The LTQ Velos Pro is the premier ion trap system for qualitative and quantitative analysis of complex proteomics and bioanalytical samples, providing a substantial increase in sensitivity and comprehensiveness of protein identification above comparable instruments. The sensitivity and speed of this instrument is ideal for routine protein identifications and is primarily employed to analyze affinity-purified samples to characterize protein-protein interactions. This instrument is equipped with a Proxeon Easy nLC nanoflow chromatography system that provides a reverse phase separation that elutes directly into the MS via a nanoelectrospray source.

Thermo Scientific LTQ Orbitrap Elite with ETD MS System
The LTQ Orbitrap Elite with ETD is a hybrid instrument comprised of a dual linear ion trap front end and an orbitrap mass analyzer at the back end. This instrument offers very high resolution and mass accuracy, making it well suited for the analysis of highly complex samples, such as cellular lysates, isotope-labeled samples (i.e., SILAC or iTRAQ), or samples enriched for specific post-translational modifications. It can perform four different methods of peptide fragmentation (CID, HCD, PQD, and ETD), and the ion trap and orbitrap mass analyzers can operate in a variety of configurations to maximize speed and comprehensiveness for global discovery experiments or to maximize sensitivity for targeted experiments. The Orbitrap Velos Elite with ETD system is equipped with a Proxeon Easy nLC 1000 nanoflow chromatography system that supports ultra high pressure separations up to 15,000 psi, offering superior chromatographic peak separation.
